Fiber Amplifier Dopants
Fiber amplifiers use optical fibers as a gain medium. Rare-earth dopants in the fiber (erbium, neodymium or ytterbium, among others) provide ions that interact with multiplexed light from a pump laser and the signal to be amplified. The most widely deployed fiber amplifiers are erbium-doped (EFDA's), which are widely used for compensating power loss in long fiber spans in telecom networks.
FiberLabs offers bench-top type optical amplifiers in telecom and non-telecom bands by taking advantage of unique optical fiber technologies. These amplifiers can be used for a wide range of applications such as R&D of next-generation photonic networks, optical measurements and scientific experiments.

O-Band Fiber Amplifiers (PFDA)
FiberLab's O-Band Optical Fiber Amplifier series is based on Pr Doped fluoride glass fiber technology. These amplifiers deliver high signal gain in excess of 25 dB over the original communications band centered around 1300nm.
S-Band Fiber Amplifiers (TFDA)
FiberLab's S-Band Optical Fiber Amplifier series are designed to meet the need for the next generation optical fiber communication window in S-band. These S-band amplifiers deliver high signal gain over 1460-1520nm by utilizing a unique fluoride glass fiber technology.
C-Band Fiber Amplifiers (EFDA)
FiberLab's C-Band Optical Fiber Amplifier series are designed to meet the need for the next generation optical fiber communications. The C-band amplifiers deliver high signal gain over 1530-1560nm by utilizing FiberLabs' unique fluoride glass fiber technology.
L-Band Fiber Amplifiers (EFDA)

FiberLab's 850nm Band Optical Fiber Amplifier was the world's first commercial 850nm optical amplifier. It makes use of FiberLabs' unique fluoride fiber technology.
