Polarization Control Platform
Full Polarization Toolkit
New Ridge Technology's Polarization Control Platform is a powerful tool for a wide variety of polarization applications.
An integrated-optic Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) waveguide polarization controller driven by a DSP/FPGA delivers super fast polarization response and functional flexibility.
Polarization Setting - "Electronic Paddles"
Functioning as the equivalent of 4 Lefevre fiber-optic paddles, on-screen slider controls can be used with fine resolution to maximize light through a polarization element or to demultiplex optical communication signals.
Polarization Scrambler
State of polarization (SOP) scrambling provides full and even coverage of the Poincaré Sphere. This mode is invaluable for testing the robustness of polarization diversity detection schemes.
Polarization Randomizer
Random changes of the SOP occur either at a set rate or via an external trigger. This feature is useful for fiber loop experiments.
Polarization Tracking
Tracking Mode
allows virtually perfect SOP tracking with no dropouts or glitches.
Applications include performing polarization demultiplexing and for development
of PMD compensation schemes.
Polarization Spinning - New!
A
new generation of coherent PM-QPSK transponders for 40G and 100G
communications systems requires testing to assure the transceivers
will operate reliably even when the SOP changes very rapidly.
The Spinner Mode simulates a
½-waveplate spinning the SOP up to 50 kHz for testing these devices.
